Welcome to the December Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop #25. You may have joined me from Melissa’s Blog or you have started here. This month’s Blog Hop is an Anything Goes Challenge. It sounds like it would be an easy challenge but it can get tricky when you have so many things that you want to play with and so little time to play.
I have been creating some decor items recently for a couple of Mother Daughter classes coming up in January so I wanted to share those with you today.
One item is just using card stock and an older paper technique, Quilling. I started by creating a heart shape and then chose the colours. I wanted to have an ombre effect which I think has been achieved. After using my bone folder to break the fibres in the card I curled them up into spirals. Using hot glue I stuck the swirls onto the outline of the heart that I had drawn on the 12×12 card. Adding some Linen Thread around the outside of the heart finishes off the main part of the project.
Using the Butterfly Duet to punch out some butterflies in the three colours and in some vellum and overlayed the card with the vellum. I added some pearls to the middle of the butterflies and stuck them on with glue dots.
The second project I made was a sampler for another Mother Daughter class. This project I did use some of the retired large letter alphabet but felt it did need these letters for the “Thankful”. I also used the Beautiful Moments stamp set and the Playing with Patterns Designer Series Paper.
I also paired these products with the butterfly duet punch. In the upcoming January to June Mini Catalogue are some new blending brushes in packs of 3 so I pulled them out and used them to do some blending with the ink on two panels. I used the Blends to colour in the mother and daughter and the two girls in the top left corner. In the top right corner I plan to have a photo of the mother and daughter.
