  • Velvet Meadow Designer Series Specialty Paper

    Today I’m sharing six handmade card ideas featuring the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! Velvet Meadow Designer Series Specialty Paper. This paper is absolutely stunning and does so much of the work for you with its beautiful designs and specialty finishes.

    In this tutorial, I created six different cards showing how versatile this paper pack can be. Whether you prefer simple card designs or enjoy adding extra layers and embellishments, these projects are a wonderful way to make the most of your designer series paper.

    One of the things I love most about the Velvet Meadow Designer Series Specialty Paper is how elegant it looks on cards for so many different occasions. The textures and patterns create beautiful backgrounds and focal points with very little effort, making it perfect for quick and easy crafting.

    These cards were so much fun to create and really highlight how easy it is to create beautiful projects with specialty designer paper. The Velvet Meadow Designer Series Specialty Paper works beautifully for elegant cards, masculine cards, sympathy cards or everyday all-occasion designs.

  • Textured Cardmaking with Hobby Haven Specialty DSP

    One of my favourite things about this paper pack is the built-in texture, and this card really highlights that. These Hobby Haven Specialty DSP ideas are perfect if you want your cards to look detailed without complicated steps.

    The subtle patterns and specialty elements in the paper do most of the work for you. I’ve paired it with coordinating cardstock and kept the layout clean so the paper can shine. This design would be ideal for beginner cardmakers or anyone short on time. You can see one of my other designs in my previous post.

  • Hobby Haven Specialty DSP card

    If you love creating handmade cards with a slightly masculine feel, you are going to love this Hobby Haven Specialty DSP card. This Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! is packed with rich textures, tool imagery, and earthy tones that make cardmaking easy and stylish.

    For this card, I let the Hobby Haven Specialty Designer Series Paper take centre stage. The layered background adds instant interest without needing lots of extra embellishment. A simple sentiment and a few coordinating cardstock layers are all that’s needed to finish this card off beautifully.

    This is the kind of card that works perfectly for birthdays, thank-you cards, or even Father’s Day. It’s also a great design if you enjoy creating cards in batches.

  • Artfully Layered Bundle

    The Artfully Layered Bundle jumped out at me as soon as I saw it. I love the greenery in the paper and the dies are just to die for, pardon the pun.     Artfully Layered Bundle Cards

    Each Friday I have been doing a facebook friday live and on the 31st December I am showcasing these cards, however I did create some quicker cards on the live. I also upload the video to youtube. I have been enjoying the facebook lives and it has helped me with my creativity.

  • Junk Journal

    A couple of weeks ago I saw a video on youtube on how to make a junk journal. I hadn’t heard of them before so I watched a couple of videos. Then I saw a video that used an old Readers Digest book cover to create a junk journal. My Dad had dozens of them when I was growing up and wondered if he still had them. So I called him and asked and he did, however they weren’t the books I had originally thought of, they were older than I remember. In fact the have so much more character than I had remembered.

    I created this Journal using old pages from notebooks, some DSP and the book cover from the Readers Digest. I threaded some bakers twine through the sheets of paper to create a book and then added memorabilia to it. These photos of the finished project with out additional items and photos in it.
