Painted Poppies Stamp

This is a very simple card using the Peaceful Moments & the Painted Poppies Stamp sets

The Painted Poppies Stamp set is one of my favourites from the January to June Mini Catalogue. And we have recently found out that these stamps are carrying over into the new Annual Catalogue. Yippee!!

I decided in January that I was going to use this suite of products for my April Retreat.

The reason was because Poppies are traditionally used as a flower to remember those we have lost during times of war. My retreat was going to be held over the ANZAC weekend.

In this very simple card I have used a Blackberry Bliss card base. Stamping the three poppy stems on a piece of whisper white card and then, using one of the mottle stamps, I stamped blackberry bliss over the poppy heads to add some colour. After that I attached a strip of the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper on the left hand side of the whisper white.

To step up the project I stamped the poppy onto the envelope to keep the theme going and to match the card.

Unfortunately I had to postpone my retreat, but I was able to host a virtual one in its place and send out a retreat in a box for those that wanted to participate. It was a fun weekend that I believe everyone that “attended” enjoyed.

Team Blog Hop #17

Thanks for joining us this month for our Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop #17. You may have joined me by coming from Kerry’s blog or you may be starting here. Either way, welcome.
This months Blog Hop is a colour challenge. We were challenged to use Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo & Smoky Slate. I chose to use the Under My Umbrella bundle and added in Whisper White & Basic Black as my neutrals. Using lot of my circle punches with this card made it quick to create and I love how it has turned out. You could step up the card again by running the basic black through an embossing folder.
I also made the card with the different colours as a frame.

On the card on the right I made a little mistake with the embossing and as there are no mistakes in cardmaking I used a black circle to cover up my bad embossing 🙂

I have created a video on how I made it and you can find that below. If you like the video, please subscribe to my channel as I am creating videos on a regular basis. If there is something that you’d like me to show you, please let me know by commenting below.

Timeless Tulips

I have had a lovely play with the Timeless Tulips stamp set and punch bundle by Stampin’ Up! You can purchase this bundle and save 10% till the 2nd June, 2020, so shop online now to get yours today.

To create this card I first needed to create a mask. Layering the mask over some Whisper White card stock I used one of the leaf images in Soft Sea Foam to create the background, overlapping them as I went. After I took off the mask I then stamped the tulip buds in Poppy Parade ink. Stamped the stems and leaves in Old Olive ink. I stamped “Happy Mothers Day” in Poppy Parade ink.

I used a Poppy Parade card base to then layer the stamped images onto a Basic Black mount.

The inspiration to use the Timeless Tulip Stamps came from Thinkingstamping.co.nz and I love how katiedrewcards.blogspot.com, created the background. Utilising both of these ideas and melding them together to create the card I have now. To say that I am really happy with how well it turned out is an understatement. I am going to be sharing this card and a few others with my team this coming weekend on a zoom meeting. We’re going to have a virtual craft session.

The Timeless Tulips Stamp set by Stampin’ Up! really is timeless. They are a stunningly designed stamp set that you will want to keep forever.

I created another card which you can see here.

Timeless Tropical

The Timeless Tropical stamp set is a gorgeous set that has so many lovely images in the set including the hibiscus flower and the frangipani, not to mention the leaves in the set.
I created 2 of the cards fairly easily using the blog hop I did in January but then changed up the hibiscus colour to match the card base. I did a quick search and found lots of other colours that the flower could be and played with them.

I then went to a come and play day at my team leaders home and came up with the other two cards. I’m happy with the final result of all 4 of the cards.

These 4 cards are the ones we’ll be making in this weeks classes. If you’d like to come along and make these cards with me, then click on this link to see more details.

Team Blog Hop #15

Welcome to our Team Blog Hop #15. This months challenge is to use pre-determined colours of Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose & Purple Posy. These are 3 current In Colors that go beautifully together. The hardest part was to choose what stamp set I wanted to use but finally settled on “Beautiful Moments” which is such a gorgeous stamp set. It was designed in collaboration with a New Zealand million dollar achiever and just love this set.

I started off making 2 cards and then decided to create a simple scrapbook page as well. I tried to stamp the image in one of the colours and then colour it in with my blends but I just wasn’t getting the look I wanted so used the Momento black Tuxedo ink and then coloured in the images. I don’t have the seaside spray blends so I improvised and used my Wink of Stella and the stamp pad to colour in the buckets. I love how it gives the images some sparkle.
