We’ve been hopping for 12 months now. I’m so excited to share these cards with you this month. The colours are so lovely by themselves. I chose the Beautiful You stamp set to work with and I love how the cards have turned out.

This first card I saw on Pinterest and changed it up. I loved the idea of using the daisy punch for the skirt. I stamped the daisy stamp from Daisy Delight in Granny Apple Green and then sponged on some Lovely Lipstick in the centre and sponged some Granny Apple Green at the tips of the leaves to blend the colours. I then cut up the petals into pairs and overlayed them into the shape of the skirt. I used the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots around her waist to hide where I’ve stuck the petals. I used the blends to colour in the rest of her dress blending the two colours together. I used Night of Navy on the ground so it looks like she’s dancing on water. The colour was a bit too dark so I used the Color Lifter to remove some of the intensity of the Navy. I then added some Shimmery Crystal Effects onto the petals and on the water.

The next three cards are fairly simple cards. I’ve always been a fan of simple cards.
On the dancing lady I’ve stamped the image onto Granny Apple Green and then cut the dress out and stuck it onto the stamped image and coloured the hat with blends.

Above the Clouds

One of my recent Stamp a Stack classes featured the “Above the Clouds” stamp set. I do love how these cards turned out. I wouldn’t normally use these colours together but with some encouragement from a couple of friends I went with the colours and they really work well together.

The original design was one I copied from my amazing talented upline, Marelle but I changed up the stamp set and colours and they are a whole new set of cards.

I chose different embossing folders to use in the background on the Bermuda Bay. When stamping the Hot Air Balloon I used full strength Bermuda Bay and then for the solid image in the balloon I stamped off in Bermuda Bay.

The small hot air balloons in the background are stamped off as well. What do you think? Would you like to make these cards? I have a few card kits available. If you order the Above the Clouds Bundle and three coloured Stamp Pads, I will give you a card kit to make the 5 cards. Just click on any of the images below to be taken to my shop and place your order. Don’t forget to use my hostess code at the top of this page.

This month we were challenged with card layout.  I chose to use the Most Wonderful Time Product Medley.  A gorgeous suite of products that include stamps, dies, 6×6 papers, adhesive image sheets, stars & tinsel.

I used the stamps & the designer series paper stack for this project.  I also used the Mossy Meadow linen thread from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack which I feel just goes beautifully with rest of the card.

I love the gold foil on the red mistletoe background paper and then on the flip side are the trees. I loved this combination together as they are very traditional Christmas colours. I like the simplicity of the card with just the tree and then with the candy canes as the decorations on the tree. I felt that the tree was still a little naked so I used the other tree image as the branches stamped off. I just kept stamping till it filled in the spaces of the tree.

I added the Mossy Meadow linen thread to break up the sentiment and the tree, Then I added a christmas present on the scallop circle in real red so it is quite a subtle tone on tone image.

I made another card but rotated the design on the next card as I cut the patterned paper incorrectly but it enabled me to create another card. I used the scallop circle with the image in real red ink.

Birthday Party Entertainment

Last month I was asked to be the entertainment for an 11 year olds birthday party. She chose to make a unicorn canvas that I had on my facebook page. The original idea was from another demonstrator in the UK I believe. I love the canvas though and can’t bare to part with my original one.

There were 8 girls and 2 boys. The boys didn’t want to do unicorns so I had to come up with something for them to make that was quick and in a sport theme. I don’t have boys so it was a little harder for me to come up with something but was able to borrow some soccer dies from a friend. I then looked at a local popular soccer team and copied their uniforms.

There was so much talent from the girls and all of the girls added their own style to their canvas. I just love how all of them are so different. If you look closely you can see in the background that they have added texture paste with different stencils.

So proud of how well the girls did with their canvas.
Here are all the kids that were very creative in making their canvases.

If you’re interested in having me for your child’s next birthday party, get in contact and we can make it happen. I am happy to travel outside of Sydney but there will be an additional charge to cover travel expenses.

All Geared Up to Celebrate

My eldest daughter started high school this year and has made some lovely friends. She was invited to one of her friends birthdays last weekend. I made this card for her friend. I am hoping that he likes the card. I used the gears from the Garage Gears Dies to cut out in copper foil.

I embossed the Gray Granite card base with the Brick & Mortar folder and then using a dauber I inked around the edge of the card and on some of the bricks.

I cut out the Basic Gray card stock using the Stitched Rectangle dies and stamped the sentiment on there in Tuxedo Black Momento. I adhered everything with my tombow glue rather than dimensionals.

Tropical Chic Floating Frame

When the floating frame technique came out I wasn’t really interested in doing the technique as the main thing to create the technique was very hard to acquire in Australia, but when I found the Press & Seal at Costco I just had to try it out.

I created this card using the Tropical Chic stamp set which I really loved playing with the stamps and dies. I love the colours as well. I used Granny Apple Green & a new In Color Rococo Rose.

The technique I believe was originally created by Jennifer McGuire. This really is a fun technique to play with and I want to try it again but just haven’t had the time. I plan to run it as a class soon too.

Here is a close up of the outside frame

I love that you can get two cards with one technique. Here is the inside part of the frame which creates another lovely card to send to someone dear in your life.

Don’t you just love the green and pink together? I just love these colours.

What do you think? Would you like to try out this technique?
