Kids Holiday Class

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today.

School has just resumed this week for term 4 and the last term of Primary school for my oldest daughter.

During the holidays though I held a couple of classes for children.  The kids love my classes and I love seeing the kids being creative.  In my first class the kids made 3 cards and decorated a box.

The box originally held stock for my husbands install work but I was able to cover it and be able to add it to my class.  I covered it in Designer Paper and then I sealed it with some Mod Podge.  The kids were then able to cut out their letters and stick them on using dimensionals. The offset the letters slightly to give a shadow effect.  My youngest daughter helped each of the girls with their letters.  It was great to have the extra helping hand.

I was so very happy with the result.

The cards were fairly simple and we used the Wishing You Well Stamp set from the holiday catalogue.  I used Gold thread to add some extra interest to each of the cards.  These card are from the catalogue so I just copied the design and had a class ready to go.  The catalogues are a great source of inspiration.

I hold classes most school holidays so if you think your child would be interested and you live in Sydney Australia then contact me or like my Facebook page and I can let you know when my next classes will be on.

And if you’d like to purchase any of the products that I used in the class then click on any of the items below to be taken directly to my online shop.

Santa’s Workshop Classes

Hello and thanks for stopping by my crafty blog.

During November I will be holding 3 Santa’s Workshop Card Classes using the Santa’s Workshop Suite from the Holiday Catalogue.

In the class you can make 16-20 cards using the Santa’s Workshop Memories&More Card Pack & Cards & Envelopes Pack. The Memories & More Card Packs make it so easy to make lots of cards in one sitting. The Cards & Envelopes Pack make it even easier with pre-scored cards and matching envelopes.

This is a great way to get a lot of Christmas Cards made quickly and ready for you to send out.

These cards were originally designed by Trish Todd in the US.  I used her card design layouts to make my cards.  The Memories & More card pack make these cards very simple and with limited stamping needed.

Another Welcome Little One

Here is the second baby card that I was asked to create for a customers upcoming card class and I wanted something very simple.  This time I used Pool Party and Very Vanilla card stock.

I created a mask and used sponge brayers to create the Pool Party rectangle.  I then used the Animal Outing stamp set in Sahara Sand ink.

I also used the layering circle dies for the sentiment.  The sentiment is also from Animal Outing.

Animal Outing Birthday

At the conference we were at last month I needed to create a few cards as I was doing a workshop. Here is one of the cards that I created. I wanted to show how you can use some only a few products to create a card that they could duplicate.

Rather than using extra cardstock I punched the tailored punch out of the coloured card stock. Once the designer paper is layered on top you can’t even see where you punched.

I used the Animal Outing stamp set in the background. Then used the “Happy Birthday” from the Picture Perfect Birthday.

During August if you spend $90 on product you can earn a $9 voucher to spend next month. This is part of the Bonus Deals promotion that Stampin’ Up! have at the moment. If you’d like to place an order you can order online. And if you use the hostess code A2GV4THE during August I will send you an little gift. Today is the last day of this promotion.

Thinking of You

This was a simple easy card to make for one of my recent classes. I used the Rooted in Nature stamp set.

I used Tranquil Tide card stock as the base colour as it is one of my favourite colours in this current catalogue.

I stamped in Tranquil Tide and Sahara Sand ink randomly on the Very Vanilla card stock. I also stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink and tied the linen thread around the Very Vanilla card.

Connect18 Conference

Last week my family and I were at The Collaroy Centre at a conference for the Christian Camping industry.  We have been attending this conference since 2008 and it is run every second year.  They run a trade show each time and as my husband runs his own business, Ministry of Tech, we have a stand at the Trade Show.  It’s a good way to increase business for the next two years.

This year we decided we were going to do a marketing campaign that would involve a seat drop where we would put something onto each seat for the delegates.  We came up with this idea.

As Stampin’ Up! sell the mini pizza boxes,

I thought it was something different than just a flyer dropped onto the seat and would also be something that people would remember.  This idea has just grown into something that we didn’t expect.

On the top of the box I have used Tranquil Tide card cut out with a square from the Layering Squares Dies.  I printed our logo onto Whisper White card stock and then cut that out using the Layering Squares Dies.  We decided that we wanted to go with a theme of puzzle pieces which Stampin’ Up!’s Puzzle Pieces Thinlits and Big Shot Embossing Mats came in handy for.  You can see the embossed image of puzzles on the top of the box.

We made up square business cards to go into the boxes with different icons to match the different areas of products & services that we provide.

We wanted to do some giveaways as well to some of the delegates so we came up with the idea of a puzzle that they had to solve.  But we mixed up the puzzle pieces to make it a little harder and for them to mingle and network with the other delegates.

We were hoping the giveaways would have taken a couple of days for them to do but they were all completed within 15 minutes. We’ll have to come up with something that will take a lot longer next time around.
